The Stitcher

Hi, I'm Lisa Pflug. I'm wearing one of my first sweater designs in this picture, and as usual, refusing to look at the camera and smile. I'm a little older now too, but it may be years before another picture of me is decent enough to post in public, so for now, this is it, and this is me - just imagine a few extra wrinkles and a streak of grey hair.

I have been crocheting as a hobbiest for about 30 years, and designing for about 3 years. I rarely crochet from patterns anymore as I am more interested in experimenting with my own ideas. I learned to crochet with my mother and sister from a lady who gave lessons in her home, and we all made ourselves the traditional 70's poncho. After that, I taught myself more techniques from books and kept stitching, even though we only had one small rack of inexpensive acrylic yarn available in the small Louisiana town where I grew up. I'm stunned by the awesome choice of fantastic yarns we have available today, and excited that crochet is again popular and I'm able to share my love of crochet with others, that is, without the sneers and teasing that crocheters have been enduring for the last 20 years. I hope you enjoy visiting my web site and viewing some of my crochet projects.
